COMMITTEES


We have a number of committees and meetings which help us decide how to run the station. Meetings are open to members and the composition of most committees is open for changes and additions! The exceptions to this rule are the Board of Directors and the Programming Committee, both of which are elected by the members. Their meetings are still open to all members but decisions will be limited to official committee members.

PROGRAMMER'S MEETINGS
These are held monthly and provide a forum for the general members to discuss topics at the station.


BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The BOD gives and takes directions to and from the society. They meet every two weeks at the Dalhousie SUB.

PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE
This committee deals with Program Proposals, drafting programming policy and other on-air concerns.


SPOKEN WORD COMMITTEE
This committee deals with the direction, quality control and development of the Spoken Word department.


PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE
We want to keep the profile of the station up in community, while at the same time help the community to raise the profile of events they put on. This committee deals with both sides of this two way street.


EMPLOYMENT COMMITTEE
This committee monitors CKDU's employment policies and practices.


FINANCE COMMITTEE
If you're interested in budgeting, spending, and general financial planning, this is the committee for you.


FACILITIES MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Since the station is always moving forward, we need to know where we're going. This Committee keeps us one step ahead in the game.


SALES COMMITTEE
This committee deals with CKDU's on-air advertising, paid sponsorships and other business-related outreach wheelings and dealings.


FUNDING DRIVE COMMITTEE
This is the group that plans the annual Funding Drive. From gather prizes to gather the troops, all the Fun (and the Ding?) of the Drive comes from here.


MUSIC COMMITTEE
Want to help out with maintaining the music library, re-filing records, previewing and reviewing records and other music-related tasks? This is the group for you. Email Reed or Matt to find out more information.


WEBSITE COMMITTEE
Want to help out with maintaining the website and coming up with new ways to use the internet to our advantage? This is the group for you. Email Joel or Tarek to find out more information.


OUTREACH COMMITTEE
This is a forum to discuss ways to reach out to the various communities in Halifax, and help increase our volunteer base and listenership.


STAFF
Dealing with day-to-day matters and other miscellany, Staff meetings are held on Weds. mornings @ 10:30, at the station. An agenda is posted in the office.
